Nancy Meza- East L.A has a history of resistance

Nancy Meza Head Shot

East L.A was the first placed I called home when I migrated to the United States from Mexico as a child and continues to be my source of inspiration for challenging the injustices that exist in the world. East L.A has a history of resistance and a history of creating change not just in policies but also in the culture and art that is produced in our community. What I love most about the Eastside is the sense of community, art and culture that is felt, nurtured and created. Growing up in East L.A I have seen the immense talent our community has to create world renewed music, art and murals that have been seen around the world. Despite the harsh realities we have and the direct attack on our community we continue to stand up and fight back.
